Just Breathe….

Just Breathe…

What is the first thing that a emergency personnel asks when responding to a medical crisis…”Is the individual breathing?” Why is that? Well, because that leads them to the next steps of survival. So what if we stopped and asked ourselves this question in a non-emergency situation, just think of all the things that could flow after that. When you breathe you are sending oxygen into your lungs which then sends what you need throughout your body. It is basically sending your entire body the message that it is safe and you are OK; which in turns allows your mind to relax. So next time you are looking at your to do list; worried about something that has yet to come (or already passed) or when your body a little self care…JUST BREATHE.

So sometimes we literally forget to breathe when our bodies need it most. I know what you are thinking…who has time to breathe…do you know what I have to get done today? See, that’s it, breathing does not take up any of the time we need to use for all of of those “important things.”
